IT APPEARS FOR NOW VICENTE GONZALEZ'S OLD SEAT GOES TO PROGRESSIVE MICHELLE VALLEJO

With a lead of a mere 33 votes, this one is way too close to call, such as Cuellar and Cisneros.

But if both Vallejo and Cisneros win, Nancy Pelosi is going to have a reckoning as the progressives push her aside.  Certainly if the Democrats lose the House, Pelosi will have no leadership role at all.

BOTH THIS AND THE CUELLAR CISNEROS ELECTIONS JUST CHANGED OVER A PENNSYLVANIA RULING CONCERNING MAIL BALLOTS

In the Oz McCormick race in Pennsylvania, McCormick won for now the right to have all mail ballots counted even if the voter failed to place a date on the return ballot.  From the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, to the federal court of appeals, and now another trial judge, the date issue has been deemed non-material.  In Pennsylvania when the ballot is received by the elections office it is stamped with the date, so there is no dispute as to when it was received.

In the federal court of appeals case the U.S. Supreme Court refused to stay the order compelling Pennsylvania to count the mail ballots without a date placed by the voter.

AOC AND THE PROGRESSIVES ARE PUSHING FOR EVEYONE IN TEXAS WHO HAD  THEIR MAIL BALLOT REJECTED TO CONTACT THEIR ORGANIZATION

The bigger issue in Texas is the signature.  People's signatures change.  But if you return your mail ballot when you get it the elections office will afford you an opportunity to correct any possible problem.

So in reality Texas is not as rigid as Pennsylvania, but the mail ballots could still be an issue.

Also note not every election administrator is the same.  Some are very generous in how hard they work to verify a signature before the ballot is rejected.  Others are not so generous.

But with the Vallejo and Cuellar wins being so small, a ruling on the mail ballots could change everything.

I would expect a recount in both.  With a 33 vote lead, Vallejo is certainly holding onto a very small lead which could easily change in a recount.

REPUBLICAN SENATOR GRASSLEY GETS EARFUL AT TOWNHALL MEETING IN IOWA OVER GUN CONTROL

To be sure, 20 people at one townhall meeting is only a microcosm of the total mood in Iowa, and the country.  But this one meeting is something worth paying attention to to see if it repeats itself elsewhere in the county.

There is no question Grassley is safe in his Senate seat, but if this is more than a microcosm, it could be a bigger problem for the Republicans come November.  Although I will repeat, the economy remains the number one issue.

I  checked several  sources on what really happened at the meeting.  You cannot trust just one post.  Last week Fox News did a story to paint Beto O'Rourke as having been forced out of a meeting in Uvalde by the mayor.  When I checked the story with other sources Fox News left out the mayor was told to sit down and let him [Beto] speak.

"Several audience members pressed Grassley multiple times over what new gun safety measures he’d be open to supporting, but Grassley repeatedly avoided committing to supporting or opposing any particular idea.

... .

One man suggested banning the sale of AR-15 rifles, which he described as “they’re there to kill people.” Grassley noted that there’s over 15 million AR-15s already out in the country (the number may be closer to 20 million).

[editor's note.  yes once the bad guys are armed, what is the point of doing anything?]

... .

“You’re still going to have AR-15s even if you stop selling them right now,” Grassley said.

“The answer is not to do nothing!” one woman in the back of the room yelled in response."

THE PART EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL SHOULD HEAR

"Near the end of the forum, Max Hilton, 64, a general contractor who lives in North Liberty, pressed Grassley on the overall lack of action Iowans are seeing in DC and the growing danger from a stalemate.

“Nothing’s progressed I’d say for 40 years. We’ve been in stasis,” Hilton said to Grassley. “We haven’t fixed guns. We haven’t fixed drugs. We haven’t fixed social injustice. We haven’t fixed the immigration system. I’m not indicting you personally, I’m indicting the whole group.”

AND SO IT BEGINS - NY RUSHES AT LAST MINUTE TO COUNTER REPUBLICAN STATES

"“It’s clear that in the federal level, they’re in a state of paralysis,” said Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal, a Democrat from Manhattan, who sponsored bills on abortion and gun safety. “But there is still more to be done to ensure against every outlandish idea that every other state might have.”

The national fracture is only going to get worse.  In time people will relocate to live in the states which best suit the life they want for themselves and their children.

Texas will lose in the end.

BECAUSE NO ONE IS GETTING PAID TO POST THIS, AND MY READERS EXPECT IT, I WILL POST IT.

NANCY PELOSI IS A DISASTER AND MUST GO - CUELLAR LEADS SHRINK FROM 177 TO 136, AS A RECOUNT LOOMS

The counties have until tomorrow to finalize their count.  Yesterday's big change came after Bexar county finalized their count.

Henry Cuellar is anti-abortion and pro guns, which would explain why Nancy Pelosi endorsed him.  Nancy Pelosi cares more about her power than the issues and the people.

The Progressives have promised a major battle for Speaker of the House if the Democrats hold on to the House in November.  This explains why Nancy Pelosi endorsed the anti-abortion and anti gun control Democrat over the Progressive.  She cares more about her power than the safety and welfare of our children and women's rights.

When your House is split, as a leader you do not take sides.

HERE IN TEXAS THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS SENT THE DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT FOR AG PACKING IN AN EMBARASSING DEFEAT

Rochelle Garza beat Joe Jaworski for the Democratic nominee for AG.  She is a strong progressive.  Jaworski's loss was a major embarrassment to the Democratic state and national Democratic Party which overwhelmingly supported Jaworski.

The people have spoken, they do not want the Plantation Democrats in charge of the Party in Texas.

By tomorrow we can see Cuellar's numbers increase or decrease.  The recount is basically already paid for.  The Progressive Voices have made clear the money is ready to go.

The Progressives. led by AOC is leading the battle to review mail ballots.  In addition to the recount we might see a legal battle over the mail ballots.

Nancy Pelosi endorsing a candidate who is anti-abortion in Texas where abortion has all but come to a standstill and remains against gun control, wherein in Texas we have faced to major mass shootings, in El Paso and Ulvalde, tells you just how little Pelosi cares about Texas.

Nancy Pelosi is many things, but a Democrat is not one of them.

PENNSYLVANIA SENATE RACE, STILL TOO CLOSE TO CALL TAKES  CENTER STAGE IN THIS RACE

The mail ballots might change everything.  As I noted last week, the Supreme Court allowed for mail ballots without material defects to be counted in  Pennsylvania.  Republican Oz who is leading in the race for the Senate Primary in Pennsylvania, has asked the Supreme Court to stop the count of mail ballots which do not contain material defects. His opponent won the mail ballots.

What is it with Republicans, that they just cannot stand if every vote is counted?

The Progressive movement will stay on the mail ballot issue in Texas.  The Cuellar Cisneros race is anything but over.

I POST THIS ONLY BECAUSE MY READERS HAVE COME TO EXPECT TO SEE IT

THE BATTLE FOR THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Just so you know, the congressional district in this special election is different than the one Flores and Gonzalez will seek come November.

I am giving you the numbers, because you have come to expect them.  But nationally, I am compelled to ask, after Ulvalde what do these low numbers tell us about how the people really feel about gun control?  Prayers and vigils do nothing to bring back the dead or heal these families. But it becomes a distraction from the fact nothing will change.  I will go so far as to say we can have another mass shooting, and nothing, and I mean nothing will change on gun control, and it will not impact November's election.

What will happen in November is anyone's guess.  Nationally the polling shows the people effectively have zero confidence in the economy.  I blame the people and Congress.

To get the Covid checks pass Congress the people had to agree to pay the people who did not need the money.  This helped to spur spending and thereby inflation.

We left it to the Corporatists to regulate themselves, and they built the factories for computer chips in countries will low wages and no worker's rights.  Now we are paying the price and it is more than cars.

A CPAP machine keeps you breathing at night.  Several years ago I was one of the first to get a new wifi CPAP which meant every morning I would get and email telling me how many times I stopped breathing and any adjustments I needed to make.  In time the doctors with the machine's serial number were able to get the same data on a daily basis.  If you had a warning in your email you could call your doctor and they could check the online system for doctors.

Well not for the new CPAP machines.  For now the new ones because of the computer chip shortage do not have the wifi function. But we left it up to the corporatist to decide where to manufacture the chips so essential to our economy, and now we are paying a price.  But instead of blaming the corporatists, we blame the President.

But when the polling says the people have no confidence in the economy who does that benefit?  They could be saying they have no confidence in the government to fix the problem.

The Republicans will block any effort to stop price gauging by the oil and gas industry.  But unfortunately, the Biden Administration has no one in the administration who understand messaging, or is it Biden still believes some day the Republicans will play nice?

As Trump was leaving office and he proposed the last excessive stimulus package he knew it would increase spending.  He knew it would cause a sort of fake inflation.

THE PRESS LOVES IT HEADLINES, BUT NOT INSIGHTFUL REPORTING.

During the worst of the pandemic prices dropped dramatically.  This is why I call it false inflation.  If a pandemic causes prices to drop dramatically, and then during the recovery prices recover and go up do you really have inflation?  Well, yes, but what the Biden Administration is not doing is looking at prepandemic prices, calculating in normal inflation and then comparing it to what we are paying now.

Wages are way up and unemployment is at records lows.  When you pay people more either the employer has to eat the loss, or they have to raise prices.

This is basic, but not being explained to the people.

The price of housing is up because of the cost of building supplies.  Congress has no control over this.  The logical result is the price of renting is going to go up. Yes you are earning more money, but the cost of living is eating it up.  So of course you are frustrated.

But you know what, the President controls none of this.

Nixon through emergency powers issued a raise and price freeze.  The law has changed several times, so I am not sure if President Biden can freeze the price of oil and gas.  If he can, he needs to.  But then  the very people who are complaining about the price of gas will call him a socialist.

WHEN OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FAILED, OUR REPUBLIC FAILED

When rote memorization replaced true critical thinking to measure a student's success, we lost the capacity to plan and see ahead.  I am not sure why we teach the social sciences at all, since it is all based on rote memorization and not critical thinking.

I was asked to review a senior project for a young man who just graduated a very high priced NY university.  I was horrified.  Had I turned in the same project in middle school, I would have failed, but it was approved as a senior project at a well known NYC university.

We have to end rote memorization as a measure of a student's intelligence.
